Connected Care Drives Physician Selection

What drives your selection of a physician?

For most of us the answer has been insurance coverage, followed by past experience and location.  Many have stayed with physicians based on coverage and familiarity considerations even when service has been lousy.

But what if two physicians -- both in-network for insurance purposes -- offered different service levels?  Specifically, what if one offered to diagnose and treat minor illnesses through a 24/7 mobile App that meant the doctor comes to you on your terms and time -- rather than you having to book an appointment and drive to the clinic.  Would such a service influence our choice of a physician?

We posed that question to people between the ages of 24 and 54 in the Midwest and found that 1 in 3 would choose a provider who offered a Connected Care option over one who did not -- and another 45 percent were at least open to the idea.

What do you think?  Would it matter to you?
